On the morning of April 23, 2023 at 3:00 a.m. Val Shaw passed away peacefully.Val was an avid bowler for more than 25 years in Las Vegas. She served many years on the LVWBA board and became a director on the SNUSBCA when the associations merged. She served on most committees and was proactive for our tournaments, putting out flyers and recruiting teams to bowl. She never hesitated to offer help to any committee and at every tournament. She served on the awards committee from the emergence of the new Association until her retirement a few years ago at the young age of 99.
She bowled at least 3 leagues every week and was a positive influence on all of the bowlers around her. Everyone who knows Val would agree that she deserved the honor of being inducted into the Southern Nevada USBC Hall of Fame in 2013. Everyone except Val herself. |
