The Southern Nevada USBC Association hosts 8 tournaments each year and they also support a number of state, national and international tournaments from time to time. Occassionally, we have someone ask us if they can help and our answer is always “yes”. We have decided to create a portal where potential volunteers may sign up for the tournaments they would like to support. Once information on your selected tournament(s) becomes available, you will be notified via Email.
The following is a little information that hopefully will help you make your decision. The adult tournaments normally have a total of eight squads covering two weekends. We try to have an open weekend between them. That gives us 4 squads each weekend and they are at 9 am and 1 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The state has recently switched to the same start times for their tournaments which alternate between northern and southern bowling centers. There is no minimum number of squads/events that you need to sign up for. Signing up to help for just one squad is always appreciated For our youth tournaments, there is a requirement for all volunteers to be RVP and SafeSport certified. The Registered Volunteer Program is a background check while SafeSport is a training program designed by the U.S. Center for SafeSport to make us aware of Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP’s). Information on these programs may be found by clicking here. |
